Child Custody

In Florida "child custody" is known as time sharing, visitation and parental responsibility.

After recent changes in Florida Law, Florida now starts with the rebuttable presumption that equal timesharing is in the best interest of the child.  Under certain circumstances it may be shown that one parent should have a majority of the time sharing or should have sole custody and responsibility.

The court's goal in determining the proper time sharing arrangement is serving the best interests of the child. The court will address both physical custody of the child and legal custody (the parent's involvement in decision making regarding the child, including education, healthcare, and welfare).
